Judging

Are you a Christian? If not, this blog post isn't for you. I'm talking to Christians right now. If you question your Christianity and walk with God, don't take this post into consideration.

Where in the Bible does it say not to judge anyone? Have you every read that? Everyone says you shouldn't judge but by the Bible it says we should look at other Christians and judge their motives. We are a church, we are one and if we see a brother or sister falling, we should be there picking them up, in a loving way.

Dear friends, don’t believe every spirit. Test the spirits to see if they are from God because many false prophets have gone into the world. This is how you know if a spirit comes from God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come as a human is from God, and every spirit that doesn’t confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and is now already in the world. 1 John 4:1-3

God gives us authority to test others so that we know they are going in the right directions. As long as we are doing this out of love, we should make sure our brothers and sisters in Christ are walking on a straight path.
When you feel led in the wrong direction by a fellow Christian, approach them and let them know they are causing you to stumble.

"If your brother or sister sins against you, go and correct them when you are alone together. If they listen to you, then you’ve won over your brother or sister. Matthew 18:15

Church shouldn't be known for being a place but for a people! We don't go to a church, we are the church. Therefore if we see a piece of the church drifting away, we should go after that one piece and bring them back. Remember the parable Jesus told about the Shepard going after the lost sheep? He left the 99 sheep to find the 1 who was lost. It's better to have one person repent and come back to the church rather than have 99 Christians be righteous and let one sheep stay lost.

“Suppose someone among you had one hundred sheep and lost one of them. Wouldn’t he leave the other ninety-nine in the pasture and search for the lost one until he finds it? And when he finds it, he is thrilled and places it on his shoulders. When he arrives home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Celebrate with me because I’ve found my lost sheep.’ In the same way, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who changes both heart and life than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need to change their hearts and lives. Luke 15:4-7

I started to question some one's faith because it's obvious they aren't living the way God tells us to be. However, I'm hesitant to be quick to judge and say something because I'm not so sure they are really in this fully. So rather than saying and confronting them about it; I rather act on it and let God handle it. I don't feel it's my place to confront them.
If you have to question some one's faith and really their intentions, you shouldn't go judging. Let God handle it. But if you know some one has been following God and you see them stumble, lovingly redirect them toward God.

Don't act as a spectator on the sidelines but as a referee in the 'game' correcting them.

So next time you hear any one say Christians are too judgemental, just remember, yes we are; only to our brothers and sisters to Christ. We want to lead the church in the right direction and not have it be pulled down by one lost sheep.

May God bless you always!
